Just smelling chocolate can help you relax

I am not much of a “sweets” eater…BUT I do LOVE chocolate. And when I say chocolate, I really am talking about dark chocolate. So I guess it makes sense because dark chocolate is really not all that sweet.

I have recently learned how eating chocolate is really good for you! It is loaded with nutrients that can positively affect your health!

But let’s take this one step backward. Just merely smelling chocolate can help you relax! What???

So after doing some research, I found that EATING a bar of chocolate may cheer you up, but sniffing it calms you down!!

Among several food smells tested, only chocolate had a significant calming effect on the brain—and only real chocolate at that.

The smell of chocolate (and only the real stuff, not synthetic) reduces attentiveness, which creates a sense of calm.

I don’t know about you, but I am not sure I could just smell it and not eat it!!! 😜
