What’s In Your Cosmetics??

There are only 26 seconds between the moment you apply cosmetics to your skin and the moment they become detectable in your bloodstream.

It’s no doubt that making conscious choices with what you’re putting inside, on top of, and around your body makes a large impact on your overall health and well-being!

Europe has banned almost 1,400 ingredients from use in cosmetics, yet the United States has banned only eleven.

Since the 1970s, the cosmetics industry has spent billions to lobby the U.S. government for self-regulation of cosmetics.

Big skincare companies argue that your skin acts as a protective barrier, hence the lack of need for regulation, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Although, some fast-acting medications are now administered through patches because of just how rapidly they absorb through your skin and into your body. YIKES!

I found it remarkable that a UC Berkeley study found a 27-45% drop in chemical exposure when participants simply stopped using conventional beauty products though! This is a significant reduction with just one simple swap!

I know I am an odd-ball to love label reading as much as I do…Have you ever been curious yourself?Always try to buy and use organic all natural products. It really does make a difference!

I’m that oddball person too, and not a fan of a lot of chemicals, so I’ve tried to make a conscious effort in reducing that in my life, as much as I can.

I’ll admit, I don’t read the labels. I haven’t put much thought into what is in my makeup. You’ve peaked my curiosity.

I have been reading into this much more lately! Pretty scary the stuff the are just putting on our faces and not really a clue what it is or what it might be doing to our bodies! Thanks for sharing!

26 seconds is exactly why I make all my own personal care products organically. My view? If you can’t eat it, it shouldn’t go on our bodies. Thank you for spreading the word!

Good article! not only we should buy natural & organic products but also research how the company sources their ingredients, what types of packaging they use that could impact our planet.
Keep it up the good work
